The newest launch in France, bet365 is renowned worldwide for having the best apps, bet builder, along with competitive odds, promos, and additional services like streaming. As of May 28 they're sports betting only, though they do hold licenses for both horse racing and online poker - we expect these verticals to be live later in 2026. For the time being, if you're only interested in sports bets and want English language, bet365 is our top recommendation.
First Bet Refund up to €100 in Free Bets
New customers only, 18+. Minimum qualifying deposit €5. Activate offer and place your first bet, receive 100% refund up to €100 if the bet loses. Refund is paid in bonus bets which can be used as one bet or multiple. Bonus bets cannot be used on boosted odds promos. Winnings from bonus bets exclude amount staked. Bonus bets expire in 7 days. Offer must be claimed within 30 days from registration. T&Cs apply.
We’ve reviewed bet365 in a number of countries and are excited to finally welcome them to the French market! Bet365 officially launched in France on May 26, 2026 with a license granted to HILLSIDE (New Media Malta) PLC. The sports betting offer is as complete as they come with quality odds, a world class betbuilder, and a long list of quality promos. Better yet, it’s one of the only French bookmakers available in English! We’ll get into the main details below on what to expect from bet365, and if you should already consider them a top betting option in France.

The arrival has been rumoured for years, but it became official on April 16, 2026 when the Autorité Nationale des Jeux officially granted bet365 a license to offer sports betting in France under license number 0067-PS-2026-04-16-AGR-00. The decision was published on the ANJ website in April 2026, and bet365.fr went live for new customers shortly after, with the full public launch landing in just in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The license covers all 3 major online categories: sports betting, horse racing, and poker. Though as of May 28, bet365 only offers sports betting, we expect poker and horse racing to come later in 2026.
Bet365 is the first major new international operator to enter France in years, joining a market dominated by Betclic, Winamax, Unibet, and FDJ. For French punters it’s a big deal, and it’s the reason the launch has been the talk of the industry.
Bet365 has opened in France with a First Bet Refund of up to €100 in Free Bets. The mechanic is simple: sign up, deposit at least €5, place your first bet, and if it loses you get your stake back as bonus bets up to €100. The bonus bets are as flexible as they come, usable as a single wager or split across several, no min odds requirement, and they’re valid for 7 days from the moment they land in your account.
A couple of things to keep in mind. Winnings from bonus bets don’t include the stake (so a €100 free bet at 2.00 returns €100, not €200), bonus bets can’t be used on boosted odds promos, and the offer has to be claimed within 30 days of registration. Pretty standard terms for the market.
This is where bet365 makes its case. The French sportsbook launches with a wide spread of disciplines, including American football, Aussie rules, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, cycling, Formula 1, golf, handball, ice hockey, MMA, motor sports, rugby league, rugby union, sailing, soccer, speedway, tennis, and winter sports.
For football, the coverage runs all the way from Ligue 1 down to obscure third-tier competitions, with a deep market spread on top leagues (Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Champions League). Tennis is also a strong point with ATP, WTA, and Challenger events all covered. The bet builder is one of the best in the industry and it’s available across most matches, with same-game multis that combine player props, corners, cards, and match markets.
Worth repeating: no horse racing yet, but they do have the appropriate license in place. If turf is your main thing, you’ll need to keep a PMU Play, Betclic, or Unibet account on the side, since bet365’s French license doesn’t cover it.
Bet365 has built its global reputation on consistently competitive odds and a stacked in-play product, and the French version doesn’t seem to have lost anything in the move. Pre-match prices on top football markets are in line with Betclic and Winamax, and on niche markets (lower-tier leagues, secondary tennis tours) bet365 often comes out slightly ahead.
Cashout is available across pre-match and in-play bets, including on bet builder selections, which is something a few French operators still don’t fully support. Live streaming is included on a wide range of football, tennis, and basketball events as long as you have a funded account or have placed a bet in the last 24 hours.
The promotions page is one of bet365’s strongest features and the French version is launching with a healthy chunk of what makes the international product so well-regarded. Expect boosted odds across multiple sports daily, a bet builder boost on football multis, and event-specific offers around big fixtures like the Champions League and the World Cup.
We also see standard sports guarantees rolling out in France: a replacement guarantee on certain football markets when a key player doesn’t start, and the early payout offer (where your pre-match bet is settled as a winner if your team goes two goals up at any point during the game, even if the final score changes). These are the kinds of recurring offers that genuinely add value over time, not just flashy one-time hooks. We’ll keep this section updated as the French promo lineup settles in.
Deposits start at €5 with a maximum of €40,000, and you can fund your account with cards (Visa, Mastercard), bank transfer, PayPal, Paysafecard, Apple Pay, and a couple of other standard French options. Withdrawals are bank transfer only at launch, with a minimum of €10 and a maximum of €50,000 per transaction. Cashouts are typically processed within 1-4 hours (bet365 aims to process within 2hrs), which is fast for the French market.
The bet365 app is widely regarded as the best in the business and the French version uses the same engine.
It’s fast, the bet slip is clean, navigation between sports is quick, and the live bet interface holds up even on the busiest match days. The app is available on iOS and Android, and the actually mobile website isn’t too shabby either if you’re phone is tight on download space.
One thing that’s quite rare on the French market: bet365 is fully available in English alongside French.
For anglophone punters in France (expats, international students, professionals on assignment), that’s a genuine differentiator. In fact, it’s the reason this site even exists, to serve English speakers or English learners in France. For that group, bet365 is easily our favourite product on the market.
Customer support can be handled in the mobile app as well, either via live chat or integrated email messaging. It’s available 24/7 in both French and English languages.

Bet365 France operates under the full ANJ framework, which means deposit limits, betting limits, time-out tools, and self-exclusion are all built in and easy to access from your account. Self-exclusion in France is handled through the ANJ and applies across all licensed operators, so if you exclude yourself you’re out of every regulated French site for the period you choose (minimum three years).
If you ever feel your betting is becoming a problem, you can reach Joueurs Info Service at 09 74 75 13 13 (8am to 2am, 7 days a week, anonymous and not premium-rated).
Bet365 lands in France with a sportsbook that competes at the top of the market from day one. The app, bet builder, live betting product, and odds are all up to the standard we’ve come to expect from bet365 elsewhere, and the recurring promo lineup (boosted odds, early payout, replacement guarantee) delivers real value beyond the welcome bonus. There’s no horse racing yet, but for sports bettors and particularly for the English speakers, bet365 is easily our top pick among the new arrivals on the French market.

Bet365 has launched in France with a classic First Bet Refund up to €100 in Free Bets. If you’ve claimed any welcome bonuses in France, you’ll be familiar with the process: sign up, deposit at least €5, place your first bet, and if it loses you get your stake back as bonus bets up to €100. If your bet wins, you keep the winnings as if no offer was claimed.
There’s no minimum odds requirement on the qualifying bet, which is rarer than you’d think on the French market and gives you full freedom to play your normal stake however you’d usually place it. The bonus bets that follow are just as flexible: usable as a single wager or split across several, no minimum odds, and valid for 7 days after being awarded. Note that the bonus bets can’t be used on boosted odds markets and the winnings exclude the amount staked.
It’s great value and a classic offer for the French market. The almost-full freedom to use your free bets however you want is as good as it gets with no minimum odds, few market restrictions, and no rollover trap.
