BETSS Review

BETSS, also known as Bet Sporting Star, is one of the longest-standing bookmakers in Sri Lanka. The company was founded in 1956 and has since grown to over 1,000 employees, most recently launching betss.com in 2020. The online platform is highly localised, but it still lags behind many of the offshore betting sites that have entered the market. It’s not the worst bookmaker in Sri Lanka, but we believe there are better options available.

The BETSS sportsbook stands out for its coverage of local events in Sri Lanka and Australia. Cricket, horse racing, and AFL are all well covered, offering high odds and excellent live streaming options. The esports section is also decent, featuring 12 different games with above-average market selection. However, beyond that, BETSS struggles to keep up with international competition. There’s no bet builder, no odds boost, and limited coverage of global sports and leagues. They also lack a sports welcome bonus, and promotions are few and far between. It’s a solid choice for single bets on popular local events, but it doesn’t offer the variety found on larger international platforms.

Outside of the sportsbook, BETSS has a few additional highlights. Convenient local payment methods are supported, and you can even make deposits and withdrawals at any Sporting Star retail shop across Sri Lanka. The brand also features a casino section with slots, crash games, bingo, and lottery titles. Unfortunately, the casino selection is very limited, and there’s no live casino option.

Overall, BETSS is a good fit for players focused on cricket, AFL, or beginners looking to try their first bookmaker. For more experienced punters or those seeking a wider range of options, there are better alternatives available.
