PowerPlay doesn’t get nearly as much attention as some of the bigger names in Canada, but it’s been quietly serving Canadian bettors since 2018. Licensed by both iGaming Ontario and the Curaçao Gaming Authority, it’s a fully accessible option for players across all provinces and territories.
In 2025 the brand landed a sponsorship deal with the Ottawa Black Bears of the NLL, picking up jersey branding and arena visibility. It’s a relatively low-profile move but a telling one: PowerPlay is clearly investing in the Canadian market for the long haul rather than just passing through.
So is it worth signing up? The honest answer is that it depends what you’re looking for. PowerPlay does some things genuinely well, particularly around withdrawal speed and same game parlays, but there are real trade-offs, particularly on odds quality, which makes this question harder to answer.
PowerPlay covers around 30 sports, with NHL, NFL, NBA, and MLB front and centre. Beyond the main four you’ll find the CFL, NCAA football and basketball, soccer across all major European leagues, tennis, golf, MMA, lacrosse, cricket, and esports. The selection is solid and there’s enough to keep you engaged year-round.
Standard market types are well covered across all sports: moneylines, spreads, totals, player props, parlays, and live betting. The live section covers 5,000+ events per month and includes quality features like cash-out. Player props are available across the major sports, though the depth on any given night probably won’t edge out tier 1 operators like bet365 and Stake.
The main area of concern is odds quality. PowerPlay’s margins run above the Canadian market average. Live betting margins are similar, and while the selection is strong it doesn’t consistently provide the best price. It’s a book you can absolutely use, but one where line-shopping against other accounts is worth the effort, especially for props and totals.
We tested PowerPlay’s SGP tool on the NBA and came away impressed. The builder covered 23 total events, which puts it ahead of BET99 (17) and is competitive with Sports Interaction (21). Market selection was deep, including standard moneylines, spreads, and totals alongside player prop milestones for both offensive and defensive statistics. For the full analysis, check out our article where we tested NBA same game parlay betting across several Canadian betting sites.
One thing worth noting: in our testing, PowerPlay’s SGP markets and odds were nearly identical to those on Coolbet. The two platforms appear to share the same sportsbook and odds feed, which we view as a positive. It means PowerPlay’s SGP offering is backed by a proven, well-resourced product rather than a lightweight in-house build.
Payments are one of PowerPlay’s genuine strengths. The minimum deposit is $10 across all methods, and deposits process instantly regardless of which option you choose. Interac e-Transfer, Visa, Mastercard, eWallets (MuchBetter, Skrill), and crypto are all supported.
Withdrawal speed is a real standout. Bank card payouts process instantly, and Interac e-Transfer transactions are typically completed within 60 minutes. For a mid-tier book, that’s genuinely impressive and faster than many of the new entrants in Canada. Withdrawal limits are $20,000 per day and $100,000 per week, well above the Canadian average and a clear advantage for higher-volume players.
The cap worth noting is 2 withdrawals per day. If you like making frequent cashouts it’s something to plan around.
New players get a 100% deposit match up to $500, giving you up to $1,000 in combined bankroll to start. From there, the bonus must be wagered 20x on bets with odds of 1.50 (-200) or higher. Individual bets are capped at $250, winnings from the bonus are capped at $4,000, and the offer expires 30 days after the deposit.
This offer isn’t a must-claim due to the steep wagering requirements, but it’s a good offer for those who will take advantage of the low odds requirement. For those willing to play it slow and steady, the 20x wagering requirement at 1.50+ is definitely achievable. It’s disappointing to have the max win cap, but at $4,000 we can’t be too harsh.
For existing players, the ongoing promo lineup includes a parlay boost of up to 50% on 3+ leg parlays, a weekly free bet for players who place 5 qualifying bets Monday to Friday, and sport-specific free bets around live events. Decent variety, though not as tailored to Canadian teams and seasons as what BET99 offers.
PowerPlay is a legitimate, underrated option in the Canadian market. The withdrawal speed and limits are genuinely among the best available, the SGP tool holds its own against bigger names, and the welcome offer can provide real value. The sports and Canadian league coverage is solid for a book of this size.

PowerPlay offers all new players a 100% deposit match bonus up to $500. A fair offer, but the terms make it tricky to convert. It’ll be a good option for some players, depending on your betting style, but it’s not a must-claim in our eyes.
All first deposits above $10 qualify for the bonus. PowerPlay will match your deposit 1:1 in bonus cash. For example, if you deposit $100, you’ll receive an additional $100 in bonus cash. The bonus cash needs to be wagered in the sportsbook 20x, which is one of the highest rates on the market. But it’s somewhat offset by the low minimum odds requirement. Wagering can be completed on any sport and market as long as the odds are 1.50 or higher, which is very competitive. Your max bet while wagering is capped at $250.
It’s not the best bonus for my betting style, but depending on what you like to play, it can still be worth considering.
Who this bonus is good for:
Who this bonus isn’t worth it for:
Overall, it’s an OK offer that won’t be especially valuable for all players. PowerPlay is a pretty interesting sportsbook that we feel meh about, and this offer doesn’t do enough to make us give the brand a full recommendation.
