With a name like ToonieBet, it’s not unreasonable to think this is a pure Canadian betting site. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. ToonieBet is operated by 2rbo Affiliates, the same group behind popular offshore sites like Campobet and Betinia. It runs on a shared platform that powers hundreds of betting sites worldwide. Other familiar examples include Rabona and Sportaza. ToonieBet has made some cosmetic changes to feel more Canadian, like renaming the “multibet” tool to “SGP”, but the core product and odds feed is nearly identical to hundreds of other sites out there.
That doesn’t make them a terrible option, as they do get some things right. But we’ll dive into the important details in this review and explain why ToonieBet is not a good option for sports betting in Canada.
The sportsbook covers the usual suspects: NHL, NFL, NBA, soccer, and tennis, along with a decent range of international leagues. Standard markets like moneylines, puck lines, spreads, totals, and player props are all available. On the surface, it looks like a full-featured sportsbook. But spend a bit of time with it and the cracks start to show.
Market depth on less popular sports and leagues is noticeably thinner than what you’d find at bet365 or Sports Interaction. If you’re the type of bettor who likes digging into alternative lines, half-time markets, or niche props, ToonieBet will leave you wanting more. This is a platform built for volume across hundreds of sites, not for depth in any one market.
SGP is possible at ToonieBet, but it’s far more limited than the best tools available in Canada. On the NBA for example, the SGP builder covers only 9 total events, with basic player prop markets and match lines. Compare that to bet365 with 25 events, Sports Interaction with 21, and BET99 with 17. You can see the full comparison at our article where we compare SGP tools at the top Canadian sportsbooks. If same game parlays are a regular part of your betting, ToonieBet is going to be a constant frustration. Check out our article comparing same game parlay capabilities across Canadian sportsbooks to see exactly how it stacks up.
The variety of payment options is actually one of the stronger areas at ToonieBet. The minimum deposit and withdrawal via Interac is just $10, which is about as good as it gets in Canada. Interac e-Transfer, bank cards, and crypto are all supported, so there’s solid flexibility for most Canadians.
The problem is the withdrawal limits. Standard accounts are capped at $750 per day and $10,500 per month. That’s one of the lowest rates among Canadian bookmakers. These limits can be increased based on account activity and VIP status, but as a baseline they’re ridiculously low. It’s the kind of fine print term that doesn’t get noticed at sign-up but becomes a real headache the moment you try to cash out.
It’s also worth noting that withdrawal processing isn’t available on weekends. If you request a withdrawal on a Friday evening, you’re waiting until Monday. That’s a policy that just isn’t acceptable when you know there are plenty of other bookmakers out there.
The sports welcome offer is a 100% deposit match up to $150 in bonus bets, which sounds reasonable at first glance. The catch is in the wagering conditions. To unlock the bonus, you’ll need to wager the full deposit amount once before the bonus is even credited. Then the bonus itself comes with a 6x wagering requirement based on the deposit+bonus amount. This multi-step process is a classic way that the more “greedy” bookies mitigate risk.
On the casino side, things aren’t much better. The welcome package comes with a 20x turnover requirement which is also applied to the deposit+bonus amount. So for example, a $100 deposit results in a $100 bonus, and comes out to wagering $4,000 before you can cash out. The fine print on ongoing promos is similarly dense, with weekend reload bonuses requiring 35x playthrough and free spin winnings requiring 40x. Trustpilot reviewers have flagged the bonus terms as a consistent frustration, and it’s not hard to see why.
The casino lobby is genuinely large, with over 3,000 games from a solid range of providers. If you’re primarily a slots player, you’ll have plenty to keep you busy. Live casino is a decent offering too, with a good selection of table games and game shows.
That said, it’s a pretty basic offering. There are no exclusive slot titles or live casino tables. The retention offers come with unfavourable conditions and the tournaments are pretty bland. Overall it’s a passable offering, but nothing unique. We’d sooner recommend BET99, Coolbet, or JackpotCity for casino games.
ToonieBet’s Trustpilot score sits around 1.9 out of 5 based on over 195 reviews, which isn’t a great sign. The most common complaints include:
It’s fair to say that some negative reviews stem from misunderstandings around KYC requirements, which are a standard part of regulated gambling. But the volume and consistency of withdrawal complaints is notable, it’s something worth considering before making a deposit. In a case like this, we recommend completing KYC before putting any cash in.
ToonieBet leans heavily on its Canadian branding, but underneath the surface it’s the same generic offshore platform shared by hundreds of sites. The sportsbook is thin on depth, same game parlays are well behind the competition, withdrawal limits are among the lowest in the Canadian market, and user feedback is consistently mediocre.

ToonieBet has one of our least favourite welcome bonuses in Canada. You have to wager your deposit 1x before you even unlock the bonus funds, then complete another round of wagering before any of it can be withdrawn. Between the small bonus amount and the demanding turnover requirements, we don’t think this offer is worth it. Here’s how it works.
The offer is a 100% deposit match up to $150. So, for example, if you deposit $100, you’ll receive an extra $100 in bonus funds to use on the ToonieBet sportsbook.
That bonus money isn’t available right away. First, you need to wager your deposit once on odds of 1.50 or higher. Very few bonuses on the market use this kind of structure.
Once the bonus is unlocked, there’s still more wagering to do. The playthrough requirement is 6x the deposit + bonus amount, which feels far too high for such a small offer. Using the same $100 example, you’d need to wager 6 x ($100 + $100) = $1,200. And that’s on top of the initial $100 wager needed just to unlock the bonus.
There are also minimum odds requirements while completing the wagering, although these are fairly reasonable. You’ll need to place single bets at odds of 2.0 or higher, or parlays where each selection is priced at 1.50 or above. That’s fair enough, but the frustrating part is the $75 max bet limit while you’re working through the requirements. It makes this offer into an unnecessary grind.
There are a few other restrictions too. Cashed out bets don’t count toward wagering, and deposits made with Skrill or Neteller aren’t eligible.
If you’re looking for a deposit match bonus, we’d recommend GranaWin or Ivibet instead. Both bonuses unlock the bonus immediately after deposit and only require 5x wagering, with minimum odds of 2.0. Much better value.
