| Red Flags 🚩 | Slowly losing their Canadian identity following Entain acquisition |

It’s undeniable that Sports Interaction has roots in Canada. The brand was launched back in 1997 and was actually the first to receive an interactive gaming licence from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. However, in 2022 the company was acquired by Entain, a UK-based organization and one of the largest iGaming companies in the world. Entain operates Ladbrokes, Coral, and Neds, some of the biggest names among UK and Australian bettors. The concern with acquisitions like this is that some of Entain’s other purchases (bwin in Germany, Eurobet in Italy) have slowly stripped away what made those bookmakers special: localization. So, has Entain taken away Sports Interaction’s Canadian charm? Or does the brand still deliver on what Canadians care about most?
Sports Interaction has a large sportsbook, and the most popular Canadian betting sports are front and centre: NHL, NFL, and NBA. That said, there are some notable exceptions. There are no markets for horse or greyhound racing, and some Canadian sports that Sports Interaction used to lead on are slowly becoming less attractive.
The clearest example is lacrosse betting, particularly the NLL. Sports Interaction used to be the go-to option, but the live betting quality and overall market selection now play second fiddle to bet365.
Odds are decent, but they’re not the best in the market. Keep in mind that Sports Interaction is no longer an independent company, it’s owned by the massive conglomerate Entain. As you’d expect, they’ve integrated the Entain sportsbook pricing, and from our tests the odds were identical to sister sites like bwin. We ran a comparison across several games over the course of a week, and the results more or less confirm that Sports Interaction offers the exact same prices as their sister sites. We’ve also compared them to a few of Canada’s most popular sportsbooks to give you a clearer picture of how competitive the odds actually are.
To assess the odds quality of Sports Interaction (SIA), we compared their lines against Canada’s most popular books: bet365, Betway, and Pinnacle. We also threw in bwin to see if they really offer the exact same prices. We tested 9 games spanning 3 dates in March 2026 covering NHL, NBA, EPL, World Baseball Classic, and NCAA Men’s Basketball.
The key metric is the bookmaker margin: the percentage built into the odds abov e true probability. A lower margin means better value for the bettor. Pinnacle is used as the benchmark, as it consistently offers the tightest margins in the industry.
| Game | League | SIA | bwin | bet365 | Betway | Pinnacle |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ottawa vs Calgary | NHL | 7.53% | 7.53% | 5.85% | 8.61% | 5.05% |
| Raptors vs Timberwolves | NBA | 4.60% | 4.60% | 4.68% | 3.82% | 2.64% |
| Tottenham vs Crystal Palace | EPL | 6.17% | 6.17% | 5.92% | 6.02% | 2.65% |
| LA Kings vs Columbus | NHL | 7.68% | 7.68% | 5.92% | 7.11% | 5.10% |
| SGA Over/Under 31.5 pts | NBA prop | 4.78% | 4.78% | 4.24% | 4.76% | 3.48% |
| Cuba vs Puerto Rico | WBC | 4.79% | 4.79% | 5.06% | 8.57% | 3.87% |
| Canadiens vs Senators | NHL | 8.17% | 8.17% | 5.56% | 7.87% | 4.96% |
| Cavaliers vs Magic O/U 225.5 | NBA | 4.56% | 4.56% | 4.17% | 5.21% | 2.67% |
| BYU vs West Virginia O/U 72.5 | NCAA | 4.40% | 4.40% | 4.60% | 3.03% | 3.87% |
| Sport | SIA | bet365 | Betway | Pinnacle |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| NHL (3 games) | 7.79% | 5.78% | 7.86% | 5.04% |
| NBA (3 games) | 4.65% | 4.36% | 4.60% | 2.93% |
| Other: EPL, WBC, NCAA (3 games) | 5.12% | 5.19% | 5.87% | 3.46% |
NHL is the weak spot. Sports Interaction’s hockey margins averaged 7.79% across three games, the highest single margin in the entire dataset. For context, bet365 averaged 5.78% on the same games and Pinnacle averaged 5.04%. For Canadian bettors whose primary interest is hockey, this gap is worth factoring in.
SIA competes on NBA and prop bets. On 3 NBA and prop markets, SIA averaged 4.65%, putting them level with bet365 (4.36%) and ahead of Betway on several games. Their line on the SGA player prop (4.78%) was within a fraction of Betway and less than half a point behind bet365. This is where SIA offers the most value.
Value in less popular markets. On both the World Baseball Classic total and the NCAA men’s basketball team total, SIA outperformed bet365 on margin. Books sometimes inflate margins on less-watched markets, SIA didn’t, which is worth noting.
SIA and bwin post identical odds. Across every single market in this comparison, Sports Interaction and bwin listed completely identical lines.
Sports Interaction prices their NBA markets competitively and you can catch a good line on niche sports occasionally. Their NHL prices are shockingly bad, which is a sure sign to steer clear if hockey is your focus. As with any sportsbook, line-shopping before placing bets is worthwhile. Sports Interaction can give you the edge from time to time, but not consistently. It’s okay, not great. It’s not as advanced as modern platforms like Stake or BC.Game, with in-house titles and daily rakeback, but it gets the job done for casual play. The exclusive live tables for roulette and blackjack, along with a wide selection of live game shows, are basically the highlight of the Sports Interaction casino.
The selection for traditional online casino games like slots and virtual tables is pretty crap. Pragmatic Play and Playtech are really the only notable providers, so don’t expect to find all of the xQc go-tos like Le Bandit and Double Rainbow.
Crash games are okay, but it feels a bit like you’re shopping at No Frills. No Aviator, AviaMasters, or Chicken Cross. Instead you get JetX, Cash Plane X5000, and Thunderstruck FlyX… Pretty disappointing lineup, especially when you consider how many online casinos in Canada are delivering so much more.
Navigation is another issue. It’s cumbersome to move between the casino and live casino sections, and there’s no option to customize the filtered lists, instead you’re stuck with preset filter options. It works a bit better in the mobile apps, but for desktop play the site feels 5-10 years behind the curve.
If you’re only after live casino games, Sports Interaction will scratch the itch. But if you like slots or you’re on the lookout for the newest and trending games in the industry, you probably won’t find them here.
The welcome bonus at Sports Interaction isn’t one that bonus hunters should chase, but for those wanting to test the sportsbook, the offer’s flexibility makes it a solid claim. You’ll have 60 days to meet the wagering requirement and full flexibility in what sports and markets you bet on, as long as the odds are 1.50 or higher. We break the offer down in more detail below.
Beyond the welcome offer, Sports Interaction runs a few other interesting promos. They’re not industry-leading, but the focus on sports that Canadians love to bet on makes them more valuable than most offshore alternatives. Here are a few promos we like that are open to all customers:
Parlay Boost: The boost percentage applies to the total odds of your ticket and kicks in on parlays with 2-30 selections. As you’d expect, you can’t claim the full 200% boost without making 30 picks – you’d have better luck asking a Newfie to quiet down on Tibb’s Eve. What we like is that the boost applies even on a 2-leg parlay. You get a 10% boost at 4 legs for example. It might seem small, but the value adds up for SGP enthusiasts.
Bonus Bets for Betting on NHL: Eligible for pre-match and live bets on NHL with odds of 1.50 or higher. We like this one because most players can cash in without going out of their way to bet on obscure sports and markets.
Early Payout on Soccer: If the team you back goes up by 2 goals, you get paid out regardless of the final result. A nice perk that truly feels like a bonus. You didn’t have to ask for it.
There are a handful of other solid promos for NBA, NFL, and college sports. The brand does a good job of keeping promos seasonal, which makes them feel like a genuine reward for betting on sports you’d probably be following anyway.
Sports Interaction doesn’t have the best odds, it’s no longer Canadian, and the casino doesn’t come close to modern alternatives. But that doesn’t make it a bad bookmaker. They’re still running promos and solid products around the sports Canadians care about, and depending on the day and any odds boosts available, you might catch the best price on the market.
It’s a good book to have in your repertoire if you like shopping lines, and it’s a good starting point for beginners.
If you’d asked us five years ago, when Sports Interaction felt more distinctly Canadian, we’d have been more enthusiastic. Overall, it now feels like a European product with Canadian branding, with the qualities that truly made the brand unique slowly fading over time.

New customers over the age of 19 are eligible for a welcome bonus at Sports Interaction. The site offers a 125% deposit match up to $750 to use in their sportsbook. So for example, if you deposit $100 you’ll receive an additional $125 in bonus cash. It’s a fine offer, not the best. Here’s how it breaks down, what we like, and what could be improved.
It’s a good offer, but Sports Interaction mitigates a lot of their risk with the wagering requirements. We’ve reviewed over 150 welcome bonuses available to Canadians. Here’s what we like and dislike about this one, knowing what else is out there.
If you’re only chasing the bonus, there’s better value out there. But if you genuinely want to try out the sportsbook, it’s a good enough offer to claim. The flexibility in how you can use the bonus cash is pretty unique, and the 60 days gives you a proper trial run. Enough time for most people to figure out if Sports Interaction is a book worth sticking with.

No. Sports Interaction was founded in Canada in 1997 and was one of the country's original online sportsbooks, but it was acquired by Entain in 2022. Entain is a UK-based company that also owns sites like Ladbrokes, Coral, and bwin. The brand is still Canada-focused and holds a licence with iGaming Ontario and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, but it's no longer Canadian-owned.
It depends on the sport. Their NBA and prop market odds are competitive with the major international books, typically running margins between 4.4% and 4.8%. Their NHL odds are weaker, averaging around 7.8% margin across our tests, which is noticeably higher than alternatives like bet365. If hockey is your primary focus, it's worth shopping your lines before settling on Sports Interaction.
Yes, in our testing the odds were identical across every market we checked. Both books are owned by Entain and appear to share the same pricing feed. If you hold accounts at both, you won't find any difference in the lines.
The main offering covers NHL, NFL, NBA, soccer, and a range of international sports. There are no markets for horse or greyhound racing. Lacrosse is available but the market depth and live betting quality have declined in recent years compared to what Sports Interaction used to offer.
It's adequate for casual play, particularly if live casino games are your main interest. The live roulette, blackjack, and game show selection is the strongest part of the casino. The slots offering is limited, with Pragmatic Play and Playtech as the primary providers. Navigation between the casino and live casino sections is clunky on desktop, and the overall platform feels dated compared to more modern alternatives.
Yes. Sports Interaction holds a licence with iGaming Ontario, which governs regulated online gambling in Ontario, as well as a licence from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. It's a legal and regulated option for Canadian bettors.
