BetRaven isn't live yet, there's no launch date announced, but the "coming soon" message on their website indicates the opening is upon us. The book's operated by Betting Services Australia, the same group behind 7 other Generation Web bookies like MidasBet and PuntZone which are pretty unremarkable. We expect strong promos at sign up but not a realistic long term option. Hop on our email list to get notified the day BetRaven goes live.
BetRaven is one of many bookmakers coming soon in Australia. Head to betraven.com.au and all you’ll find is a placeholder coming soon page, no accounts, no preregistration, no launch date. It’s licensed by Liquor & Gaming NSW, so it’s legit, and it talks itself up as fast, simple and secure across racing, greyhounds and sport, with the generic promise of great promos.
Trouble is, this betting site is just the latest in a long line of books from Betting Services Australia Pty Ltd, an outfit that turns out Generation Web sites by the dozen. We’ve seen this one before, and it rarely ends with anything special, though it makes it easy to anticipate what’s coming.

BetRaven’s licence sits with Betting Services Australia Pty Ltd (ABN 21 649 987 735), the company behind a whole stable of Aussie books: MidasBet, PuntZone, PandaBet, DashBet, BetNow, BetNova and NinjaBet, all on a NSW licence and all running Generation Web software. On top of those, they’ve registered another thirteen brands on the ACMA register that have never launched (BeastBet, BetBull, BetCoin, BetStorm, FalconBet, FireBet, IceBet, MoonBet, RoyalBet, RushBet, SonicBet, SpicyBet and StrikeBet), each one a dead link. Stockpiling brands like this is a pattern, and not usually one that should keep punters on the edge of their seats.
The company is co-owned by Winton Veall, alongside co-director Da He, who runs the risk and account side after stints at Tabcorp and Bet365. Both know their way around the Aussie betting game and both come with a fairly colourful history, but the short version is that these are experienced operators who’ve done this plenty of times before.
If BetRaven runs to the house template you’ll get a Generation Web book: a tidy enough white-label platform you’ll recognise from dozens of other small Aussie books, covering racing, greyhounds and sport, with average prices and a promo push at launch to reel punters in. Nothing you can’t already get somewhere else.
The group’s current apps don’t make a great case for it either. Not one of them rates well:
| Bookmaker | iOS rating |
|---|---|
| MidasBet | 2.0 (46) |
| PuntZone | 3.0 (22) |
| PandaBet | 3.0 (22) |
| DashBet | 2.3 (10) |
| BetNow | 1.4 (7) |
| BetNova | 2.5 (8) |
| NinjaBet | 1.3 (12) |
Nothing above a 3.0, and a few scraping the bottom. On that form, it’d be a real surprise if BetRaven turned out to be the pick of the bunch.
Not really, no. BetRaven will be licensed and legal, and if the launch promo is sharp it might be worth a quick look when it opens. But everything about it points to another throwaway Generation Web skin: no track record to lean on, sister books punters clearly aren’t rating, and an operator that registers brands by the dozen. It just doesn’t look like a book built to stick around.
There’s nothing to sign up for today regardless, no launch date, no preregistration, just a holding page. Bookmark this or jump on the email list and we’ll flag it if it opens. After a bet right now? Have a look at our new betting sites page to compare the 10 newest launches in Australia.
