What we can do is lay out what’s actually known, flag the terms worth knowing, and tell you what to watch before you trust it with your cash.

What RiverBet Is Right Now

RiverBet is an Aussie betting site available on iOS and desktop, live since June 11, 2026, running on BetMakers software. It carries a full racing book (fixed odds, Best Tote, Same Race Multis, Quaddies and the Daily Double) alongside a standard sports offer with Same Game Multis. Live streaming is handled through SkyLive, and the app comes with speed maps, form and insights built in.

It’s a tidy, feature complete launch rather than anything groundbreaking. The racing tools (speed maps, form, SkyLive vision) are the standout for a new betting site, but being brand new means it’s unproven, and there are a couple of terms worth knowing before you sign up.

The Bits That Make Us Cautious

A few things in the terms stand out compared to the rest of the market.

The payout caps are modest. Sports tops out at $40,000 per event or wager, including on multis. Racing is capped lower: $20,000 on metropolitan gallops, $10,000 on provincial, country and harness, and just $5,000 on international gallops. To their credit, RiverBet can elect to pay more at its discretion, and they stick to the Minimum Bet Laws, but if you’re a bigger punter those ceilings sit lower than you’ll find at the major corporates.

No cash out. RiverBet doesn’t offer a cash out service, so you can’t close a bet out mid event, and Same Game Multis can’t be cashed out either. Some punters won’t miss it, but if cash out is part of how you bet, it’s absent here.

A Quick Note On The Terms

Worth a flag for anyone who reads the fine print: RiverBet’s terms read like a recycled industry template in places. The soccer rules still reference Paddy Power, and the elections section talks about the 59th US Presidential Election and 2020 dates. It’s not a red flag on its own, plenty of new books launch on boilerplate documents, but it’s a sign the paperwork hasn’t been fully tailored to the brand yet.

Who’s Behind RiverBet

RiverBet is the trading name of RiverBet Partnership, holding a bookmaking registration with the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission (VGCCC). It’s also a member of the Victorian Bookmakers’ Association (VBA) and holds a club bookmakers’ licence approved by Racing Victoria. That’s a solid licensing setup for a new book, the Victorian bookmaker route is a recognised and well regulated path, and VBA membership is a reassuring sign for a new brand.

Should You Bother Punting At RiverBet?

If you like being first through the door and you’re happy to deposit small while it proves itself, there’s no obvious red flags here. It’s Victorian licensed, a VBA member, running proven BetMakers tech, with a genuinely decent racing toolkit (SkyLive, speed maps, form) for a brand new book.

If you want a book with a proven payout record and years of punter feedback, RiverBet simply can’t offer that yet, and the modest payout caps are reasons to keep early stakes sensible.
