GemBet is a new launch in Australia opening their doors to punters in late June 2026. They run the classic BetMakers offering: sports betting and full racing products, features like same game / race multis, fixed odds, Best Tote, Quaddies and Daily Doubles. We don't like that there's no information on who's behind them, but we like the VIC license and mobile capabilities from day one. It's a basic offer, not a top recommendation, worth a punt for those who like testing new bookies.
GemBet is a new Aussie bookie that opened its doors on 24 June 2026. They run on BetMakers software, a common white-label provider that powers a handful of other new books such as RiverBet and DafaBet. They’re owned by GemBet Pty Ltd, hold a Vic licence, and provide a full offer for sports betting, horse, harness, and greyhound racing. The product is tidy enough, nothing groundbreaking yet, but it’s fully Vic licensed with the standard BetMakers feature set from day one.
Quick one to clear up first. There’s an offshore betting site and online casino trading as Gembet licensed by Anjouan Gaming, which is seen as one of the more dodgy offshore licensing platforms. This offshore operation has nothing to do with gembet.com.au. GemBet Australia is a separate business, separate licence, separate part of the world. If you came here for the Aussie bookie, you’re in the right spot.
GemBet is an app and desktop Australian bookmaker live since late June 2026, built on BetMakers software, the same engine behind BallrBet and FatBet. It carries a full racing book with fixed odds, Best Tote, Same Race Multis, Quaddies and Daily Doubles, plus a standard sports offer with Same Game Multis.
On who is actually behind it, GemBet keeps things quiet. The About page is thin and there is nothing in the public record naming the operators. That is par for course with a new bookie, but it does mean there’s no track record to lean on yet.
Like every BetMakers book, GemBet runs a set of standard dividend and payout caps. None of them are out of the ordinary, but they’re worth a quick look before you dive in head first.
The max dividend on any single multi is capped at $1,001, with a limit of 20 legs per multi. That’s the standard multi dividend cap you’ll find right across BetMakers books.
Same Race Multis have their own max payout caps: $15,000 on Aussie and Kiwi thoroughbreds, and $10,000 on the greyhounds.
Tote and SP dividends are capped too:
And exotics are capped by track grade:
No cash out. There is no cash out here at all. Every bet runs to the result.
The VBA listing. GemBet’s terms call it a member of the Victorian Bookmakers’ Association, but right now it’s not on the VBA’s public directory. Could just be the VBA being slow to update for a new member, which is what happened with BallrBet before it turned up properly listed. If it matters to you, check the VBA site yourself before you sign up.
GemBet has the makings of a decent book. Victorian licensed, probable VBA member (though not yet on VBA website), and having Same Race Multis from day one is more than most new bookies manage. The platform does the job, and the dividend caps are the usual BetMakers limits rather than anything to worry about.
The main knock is simply that it’s brand new with no track record yet. There’s nothing alarming on the licensing or ownership side, so if you like testing fresh bookies it’s worth a crack. If you’d rather a more established option, have a look at our TAB review or the wider list of Australian bookmakers before you commit.
Is GemBet a dud? No, not on what we can see. Is it a safe, proven punt? Nope, not yet. It’s brand new, so punt accordingly.
