NextBet launched in March 2026 out of the PlayUp-CrossBet merger, which means it's a new brand sitting on top of a platform that already worked. The racing product is solid, Same Race Multis are available from day one, and PayID instant withdrawals are built in for every customer. App Store and Google Play scores are moderate for a new book, which is pretty normal territory. If you're a racing punter who wants a cleaner app and instant withdrawals, it's worth a look.
NextBet is one of the newer Australian betting sites, but the new branding is where the freshness ends. Launched in March 2026, it’s the product of a merger between PlayUp and CrossBet, two established platforms with real infrastructure, existing customer bases, and racing and sports betting markets already in place.
Most new bookmakers spend their first year catching up on market depth. NextBet skipped that phase. The racing product, Same Game Multi builder, and Same Race Multi tool were all available from day one, inherited directly from the PlayUp platform.

| Source | Rating | Volume | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|---|
| App Store | 3.9 / 5 | 389 ratings | Moderate for a newly rebranded app. Volume is building. |
| Google Play | 3.6 / 5 | 87 reviews | Consistent with iOS. Early Android users more critical. |
| bets.com.au | 4.0 / 5 | Editor scored | One of the more credible affiliate scores. Aligns with user sentiment. |
| Just Horse Racing | 4.5 / 5 | Editor scored | Racing-focused site, generous score for a new book. |
| Kruzey | 4.6 / 5 | Editor scored | High score, though Kruzey leans toward promo code pushing. |
| GoBet | 4.5 / 5 | Editor scored | GoBet tends to rate generously for books with active affiliate programs. |
| MyBettingSites | 4.5 / 5 | Editor scored | Broadly in line with others. Affiliate-driven but relatively consistent. |
| Blackbook | 4.0 / 5 | Editor scored | More conservative score. Content largely mirrors bets.com.au. |
The affiliate scores are unusually tight here with most sites rating between 4.0 and 4.6, which is higher than you’d expect for a brand only a few months old. That’s partly because NextBet has an active affiliate program and a new book tends to get a warmer reception from sites chasing the referral. Take the editorial scores as directional rather than definitive. The user scores, 3.9 App Store, 3.6 Google Play, are the more honest signal at this stage, and they’re building from a small base.
This is where NextBet is strongest. Horse racing betting coverage spans Australian metro, provincial, and regional meetings, plus major international cards. The EasyForm and LiveYard tools carried over from PlayUp give punters a more detailed look at form data and in-race movement than most new betting sites.
Same Race Multis are available on Australian gallops and greyhounds. Markets open around 9:30am on race day for gallops, and roughly 15 minutes before jump for greyhounds. You can build legs across win, top 2, top 3, and top 4 in the same race, with max odds capped at 10,001. If a selected runner is scratched before jump, the bet is void and your stake is refunded in full.
Sports betting covers the main events: AFL, NRL, cricket, soccer, NBA, and more. The Same Game Multi builder works across all of them with a maximum payout of $40,000. It’s not the deepest sportsbook in the market but it covers what most punters need.
The Draftstars fantasy sports product is also accessible through the same account, which adds a different way to engage with the same fixtures.
Every NextBet customer is automatically enrolled for PayID instant withdrawals up to $10,000 per day after two standard bank transfer withdrawals have been processed with no fees for withdrawals. Bank transfer is the alternative, taking 1-2 business days. Minimum withdrawal is $10, and the maximum payout on any single bet is set to $250,000.
That’s a clean setup. No opt-in required once you hit the threshold, no charges to get your money out. It puts NextBet ahead of several more established books on withdrawal convenience.
No live streaming is the most obvious gap. It’s not unusual for a newer book but it puts NextBet behind bet365 and TAB, both of which offer vision on Australian and international meetings.
The brand is only a few months old under this name. The PlayUp infrastructure gives it substance, but the NextBet track record is short. That’s not necessarily a problem, it just means there’s less history to judge it against.
App scores are mid-range right now. Not bad, but not at the level of established books with years of refinement behind them. Worth checking back in 12 months once the review base grows.
If you’re a racing punter after a solid form tool, a decent Same Race Multi builder, and instant PayID withdrawals with no fees, NextBet is genuinely competitive. The PlayUp foundation means the product works, you’re not signing up to a completely unproven bookie.
If you primarily want live streaming, the sharpest odds, or a book with a long track record under its current brand, there are better options. Our TAB review covers the best live racing vision available, and our bet365 review covers the strongest odds and streaming combination on the market. If you want to compare all licensed Australian bookmakers in one place, the full list has you covered.
